Resurrect The Sport: Understand what is achievable
It is important that we do not go over the top in our demands, as much as it would be nice to have things back the way they where it will not happen we must recognise this and set achievable goals if we are to succeed.
One suggestion that you may wish to think about is the return of .22 and .32 target shooting. This would cover us for the Olympic games and the commonwealth games.
We would need to be able to practice out sport in out local clubs but also practice dry firing to improve our skills at home.
If we keep our requests to this small area then we are more likely to succeed.
Read up on the current firearms legislation; keep up to date with what you are being asked to do by the government, MP’s and shooting organisations, we hope this site will help with this.
If you wish to persuade someone to change something then shouting and screaming at the will not help, threatening them will only lead them to dig in and you will not even enter into a discussion.
John Leighton-Dyson (British shooting's performance chief) has said “I would like to think reasonable people will be able to have reasonable discussions and come to reasonable conclusions about this.”
If we are unreasonable in our approach or requests we will keep the current situation, keep calm and know your facts and think through your arguments through before you start them.
